Paul McGahan

Paul played on the Irish regional circuit from 1988 to 1993 before moving into coaching. He now has almost twenty years experience as a pro golf instructor and came to work at Elmgreen in 1995.

Paul’s group lessons are a great way to pick up the basics of the game and he’s available to take groups of up to eight people for morning or evening sessions.

Learn the fundamentals of the game over a six-week programme or more experienced players can choose to concentrate on a particular part of the game. Paul also runs a summer course for children.

Karl Kelly

Karl served his apprenticeship at Shannon Golf Club in Co Clare and turned professional in 1992. He has several qualifications and is currently ranked as Category AA status in the PGA.

Karl’s on-course instruction is the perfect way to learn about course management while he talks you through your entire game from tee to green.
He’s available for 9-hole or 18-hole games and also provides group or individual lessons.

Karl specialises in video training using the star computer analysis system as seen on sky sports. He also gives advice on fitness and golf psychology.

Sue Bamford

Before turning professional as a founder member of the Ladies’ European Tour in 1978, Sue Bamford won numerous amateur titles including the English Girls’ Championship and the English Under-23 Championship, and had achieved a handicap of plus one by the age of 18. She was also the youngest ever winner of her senior County and Regional Titles. She represented England at Junior and Senior levels on six occasions before turning professional. Sue competed on the European Tour for several years before becoming a fully qualified PGA Member in 1987. For the last twenty years Sue has been a full time teaching professional, coaching players of every level from beginner to professional. After running a successful golf tuition business in Somerset in the West of England for many years, Sue moved to Ireland in 2000 to take up the position of Head of Coaching at the Open Golf Centre. Sue moved to Elm Green Golf Centre in 2007 and now runs her busy teaching business from both Elm Green Golf Centre and Roganstown Golf & Country Club.

Sue is available for individual and group lessons on all aspects of the game. She teaches at Elm Green from Monday to Friday during both daytime and evenings. Beginners are welcome; equipment is provided if needed.
